McKayla Marie was captivated by the art of creating from an early age. With a pen and paper in hand, she was always busy making something. In her early years, she dreamed of becoming a Disney cartoonist, but once she stumbled upon songwriting, she knew she had a different path ahead of her. At age 9, McKayla’s parents surprised her with guitar lessons so she could put music to her melodies. Once she learned to play a few songs, she was out in the world ready to play and sing for anyone who would listen. With musical influences such as Garth Brooks, Maren Morris, and Kacey Musgraves, McKayla has created a style that encompasses the characteristics of her heroes.

In 2020, McKayla Marie released her debut single, “Young Love'“, which reached 17,000 streams in the first week of the release. In 2021, McKayla moved to Nashville and released the heart-felt ballad, “Half Life” shortly after. Both “Young Love” and “Half Life” landed on iconic Spotify and Apple Music playlists and continue to reach people daily.

While McKayla lived in Nashville for two years, she moved back to her hometown in Oregon to tour around the Pacific Northwest. She often makes the trek back to Nashville to write and record in music city.
