This non-credit training will provide practical knowledge and skills to effectively prevent, detect, and manage pests and diseases in agricultural crops. Covers the identification and management of common pests and diseases, including powdery mildew, botrytis, viruses, rust and blister mites, and mealy bugs. Learn about scouting techniques, pest and disease lifecycle, and the timing of scouting, as well as population/damage thresholds for intervention (sprays) and how to determine the appropriate time and type of intervention.

Outcomes:

  1. Identify pest and disease species found in vineyard systems.
  2. Demonstrate monitoring techniques for relevant vineyard pests and diseases.
  3. Describe the life cycles of pests and diseases.English Instruction
