2023 Live Music at Chemeketa Cellars

The remainder of this summer's music series will be held on the patio. There is seating for appoximately 60 people at tables and a few sets of Adirondack chairs. There are several large umbrellas and some smaller umbrellas for shade, but it can get very warm on the patio so please plan accordingly. Please feel free to bring your own chairs as well. Our live music  events are family-friendly and for 2023 are free unless noted otherwise.

Saturday, September 23, 2-5 pm: Jacob Westfall

Americana tender-rock Artist Jacob Westfall is a larger than life troubadour of love and adventure — a young veteran of the Portland music scene that has gained recognition as one of the fastest growing singer-songwriters in the Pacific Northwest; often seen onstage with a family of collaborators and musicians of his adoptive hometown community. When performing he shares his story through genuine songwriting, powerhouse vocals, and pristine arrangements – regaling his tales of love, goodbyes, new friendships, and serial optimism through a tradition of alternative soundscapes and folk authenticity in a pop-style package with a rock & roll attitude.

Thursday, September 28, 5-7 pm: Cameron Morgan

Cameron Morgan is foremost a guitarist, but also a composer, vocalist and multi-instrumental artist with a rich background in performance and sonic effects painting. His playing style is a melting blend of understated intellect and primal abandon wrapped in velvety tones. Cameron’s composing style conveys a sense of the dramatic with an edge toward adventurous song creation. Hatched in Houston, Texas, and raised in a record store, Cameron picked up his mom’s acoustic at age seven setting a musical trajectory that has taken him around the world with artists ranging from Brian Blade to Gino Vannelli. Cameron currently lives in Portland, Oregon.

Saturday, September 30, 3-5 pm: Mitch Lies

Veteran guitarist and vocalist Mitch Lies entertains audiences with stylized interpretations of classics from The Beatles, The Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, Credence Clearwater, John Prine, Van Morrison and more.

Thursday, October 12, 6-8 pm: Dante Zapata

Acoustic artist Dante Zapata is self-taught singer and guitar player who started learning the language of music around the age of 12. Dante's love of music is matched only by his passion for family and Oregon wine country. He has performed national and internationally in France, Switzerland, Seattle, California, Colorado, Tennessee, South Carolina, and New York. Dante brings a soft, soulful vibe to the tasting room, playing everything from blues to country, jazz to gospel, in his words, "music for soul."

Thursday, November 16, 6-8 pm: Nouveau Release Party ($20)

Our fifth annual Beaujolais Nouveau release party will be held on November 16 from 6-8 pm. Join Chemeketa Cellars and other local wineries pouring nouveau varietals in celebration of this famous French holiday. The ticket price of $20 ($15 for wine club members) includes tastings of Nouveau from local wineries and our student-made Nouveau along food pairings and live music. 

Wednesday, May 1, 6-8 pm: Annual Barrel Tasting Event ($25)

Join the Wine Studies program for a celebration of the achievements of the program and our talented alumni. You'll have the opportunity to experience barrel tastings hosted by Wine Studies students in the winery along with alumni wines, live music and hors d'oeuvres on the main floor of Building 1. The Chemeketa Cellars tasting room and patio will also be open. In conjunction with this event, the Horticulture program will host a plant sale, where you can stock up on beautiful annuals and perennials grown by Horticulture students at Chemeketa’s Salem campus.
